Description

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Many donors are involved in supporting development projects that improve economic development and human welfare in African countries. These kinds of interventions have been longstanding. The support contributes to the long-term capacity of a country to compete in the global economy (e.g., with a skilled and productive workforce). There is abundant evidence that State and Federal Governments, have not tapped to the fullest the advantages and opportunities offered by these interventions.

Experience has also shown that there is no Government agency in Nigeria that has all the resources in the required amount for the development of its establishment,  your agency or state is not an exception.  Therefore, additional resources by way of international donor agencies assistance are imperative.
It is in the light of this that COINMAC intends to mount this workshop. It is with a view to re-orientating all key functionaries of the Governments for improved performance and enhanced achievement in fund sourcing from International Organizations and Donor Agencies for development projects.

Course Objectives:

The main objective of the workshop is to school the entire management of the key functionaries of the government on strategies for deriving sufficient benefit from the technical and financial assistance programmes which the donor agencies offer.  In specific terms, the objectives of the specialized programme are to:-

  • Facilitate the state government to meet more grant makers and experienced Donor Recognized Consultants in an open forum to learn more about their grant programs and application processes.
  • Initiate logistics and processes for sourcing fund from relevant donors for Development Projects and other areas of interest
  • Show the Philanthropy Resource Library
  • Research into the various funders, their guidelines and their grant giving histories.
