COURSE RATIONALE
In recent years, the PC network has become a critical component of the corporate computing environment. With the rapid expansion of PC-LANs in the office, there is an increasing demand for professionals who possess a broad understanding of PC-LAN technologies and the ability to integrate them into a seamless network.
This hands-on course provides you with a comprehensive set of tools and techniques needed to configure, identify and resolve LAN problems related to cables, protocols and name resolution.
You also gain the skills to deploy and troubleshoot wireless networks. You learn how the technology works and how to plan, optimize and extend the network beyond short range. A vast number of organizations are benefiting from the cost-effectiveness, mobility and productivity advantages of wireless solutions.
As the technology continues to evolve, the knowledge needed to effectively manage the LAN must be continually updated. This is the raison d’etre for this course.
The participants will in addition master the configuration, installation and use of Internet and WEB resources which include the followings among others:
• Internet Telephoning
This involves reducing cost of telephone charges. For instance, making international telephone calls on the Internet while the caller is being charged for local calls.
• Chat
An elecronic mode of information exchange similar to real-life conversation
• Electronic mail (e-mail)
Computerized system where the computer is used as a kind of postal service
• Voice mail
Voice messages are sent, stored temporarily in digital form on disk, and then reconverted to auditory form when received, at the user’s convenience.
